23 hours and counting...

3 O'clock flight out of Newark tomorrow; need to be in airport by 1:00; leave time to find parking in long term parking and get to terminal means at Newark by 12:30, means leave my driveway by 10:30 am. Between now and then, a partial "to do" list looks something like this.

1. Take down Christmas tree and put away decorations.
2. Pay and post out last bills
3. Write up comprehensive sign outs to Geoff and Beth
4. Make any additions to house instruction for Dan (see below, any suggestions appreciated)

HOME OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

A. STARTINGS SNOWBLOWER
Cold Start
1.      Make sure gas tank is full – it goes through gas fast so you may as well fill it before you start.
2.      Turn ignition switch to “on” position (horizontal).
3.      Slide engine speed lever all the way to the right (this control the engine speed, ie, it is the gas pedal).
4.      Turn choke knob to right.
5.      Push priming bulb 3 or 4 times.
6.      Pull cord until starts – NEVER pull cord while engine is running.
7.      Once engine turns over return the choke knob to its original position (left).
Warm Start
1.      Once the engine has run for a while, if you need to restart it skip the priming step. If by accident you overprime it the engine will flood with gasoline and will not start. The only thing to do is to wait – this may take several hours.
2.      If the engine has really been running for a while and was only off briefly, you may not need to turn the choke, but, unlike the primer, you can’t “overchoke” the engine. If the engine is coughing or sputtering and not running smoothly, check to make sure the choke knob is all the way over to the left.
B. KNOCK SNOW OFF GARAGE TENT FREQUENTLY – ESPECIALLY IF SNOW IS WET OR HEAVY.
C. CAT CARE

1.      Make sure you add water to her fountain bowl every few days – she drinks quite a bit and it evaporates quickly in the dry winter air.
2.      One can of wet food every morning.
3.      ½ cup of dry food in the evening. She doesn’t need to get this every night but you can if you want.
4.      Rinse out empty cans and put them in recycler

. BRING IN MAIL EVERY DAY AND LEAVE IN BASKET ON         DINING ROOM TABLE

E. EMERGENCY CONTACTS
1.      Try my cell phone first – I just might be in range, but don’t know.
2.      Rich Burzine: cell ; home
3.      Rich Maletta: cell  (he will be back Wednesday January 7th)
F. Only Use Upstairs Fireplace
    1. If you use fireplace DO NOT LEAVE IT UNATTENDED – DO NOT LEAVE HOUSE
G. Put garbage and recycling out on Thursday nights.

5. Personal hygiene - finger and toe nails, beard, shave, shower
6. Finish packing, weigh luggage, adjust, put out in car.

I'm sure I will think of more....
